I am running Joomla and have a level one directory that I want to exclude called 'research'
I have placed it in the exclude URLs as such:

do_pdf=
pop=1
task=emailform
task=trackback
task=rss
research/
/research
However, the level one entry is still in the site map:
<url>
<loc>...www.hmsoa.org/research</loc> note: ... replace http portion
<lastmod>2012-07-27T15:20:52+00:00</lastmod>
<changefreq>weekly</changefreq>
<priority>0.8000</priority>
<url>
How can I make sure this entry is not in the site map. I don't want to just use research as a generic term since it does exist as part of other URL's.
