Google Doesn't like the XML V5 sitemap
« on: March 24, 2011, 02:59:32 AM »
I upgraded to XML version 5.0 from 3.0. The upgrade went fine.
My site was crawled successfully. I submitted the xml site to Google, and that's were the problem started.
I've submitted the XML file from version 3.0 with no problem, but Google didn't like the version 5.0 file.
Here's the message that google gave me about the XML file.

"Paths don't match
We've detected that you submitted your Sitemap using a URL path that includes the www prefix (for instance, [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]). However, the URLs listed inside your Sitemap don't use the www prefix (for instance, [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ])."

Have I neglected to set something correctly on the Version 5.0 install?

Here's the website.

[ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

Here's the Version 5.0 xml sitemap.

[ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

Thanks

Hello,

make sure that you create site entry in webmaster account as "[ External links are visible to logged in users only ]" instead of "[ External links are visible to logged in users only ]" (since URLs in sitemap point to non-www domain in your case)

Thanks,
That did the trick. When I signed up the site with Google, I included the "www" in the url,
so when I submitted the sitemap Google had already included the "www".

I did have to resubmit the site without the "www" in it because when you try and
submit the sitemap to Google their form already includes the entire URL you listed with them.

Once I made the change, it worked just fine.

Thanks again.
