Sitemap Generator Forum

Just purchased and installed the sitemap and everything seems to be normal and validated, but Google is still spitting back this error.

"We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit."

Here is my sitemap:

Am I missing any glaring problems? Any ideas why Google won't accept the sitemap?

sitemap.xml should reside in your domain root folder.

I also have the same error as well

Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead.

What is the supported format and I am NOT the only one having this issue and I have not seen ANY solutions yet. Is there a software update somewhere? How do I fix this?

Let me add, I have had this working on ALL of the corporate sites that our company has built in the last year with no issues at ALL. I decided to check on a list of sites where I KNEW it was working and now ALL of the site maps show the SAME error. What is going on here?
