Installing XML-sitemap into an addon domain in cpanel
« on: March 18, 2010, 11:39:25 AM »
Hi there,
I have been using sitemaps for quite a while now for my websites and just bought another one to add to a new website of mine..... before I install and make loads of errors could someone tell me if I can install into the directory of an addon domain rather than root of the main cpanel domain

I have the second site set up with different URL as an addon to the first domain that already has sitemap installed in root...

Or can I have two installations running at the same time in differnet drectories in the root?

Thanks for any advice

Clive

Hello,

yes, it can be installed in a subdomain or just in another folder with different name.

Hi and thanks for th quick reply...

Can you tell me how I name the ror and site map txt files etc... They already exist in the main domain... Do I just place them in the second directory?

Hi there,

I am still not sure what to do with the sitemap files for google etc... Do I just put them inside the second generator folder as wel

Will seach spiders find them if they are hidden away in a subfolder?

You should put them in the folder where subdomain is located and submit them to google separately:
