Hi, my first post here. Can I know how do I exclude urls like this?
[ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

I just want the url to be like this:
[ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

What do I key into the "Exclude URLs:"?

You can add "ref" into "Remove session ID from URLs" option at the bottom of configuration page.

I have the same issue (trying to remove ref=abc123 from all URLs) and have set the "Remove session ID from URLs" field to "PHPSESSID ref", but ref=various still appears in many places in the sitemap.

This is using the current version of 2.9

Did you regenerate sitemap after that?

Yes, it was regenerated. The problem persists now still. Seems to be when the "ref" valid includes underscores. I'm guessing the feature only removes keys with alphanumeric values. Seems to  me it would be reasonable to include _ and - if nothing else.
