Problems with Site Map Part Nr.s

We have product part nr.s which include the character /. Unfortunately, this is being interpreted/changed by XML-Sitemap to the characters %2F resulting in 2 entries per product in the site map - 1 with the %2F in the main site map and 1 with the / in a sub-section of the site map.

How can we resolve this without changing the part nr.s?

what is your sitemap URL and exact URLs that are duplicated?
