I submitted my first sitemap to Google on April 13, 2009.
Since then Google webmaster Tools always has a Status Warnings.
I have 13716 URLs in my Sitemap [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]
But Google reports only 180 URLs indexed in the Sitemap.
In the Sitemap errors and warnings I see the folloging:
When we tested a sample of URLs from your Sitemap, we found that some URLs redirect to other locations. We recommend that your Sitemap contain URLs that point to the final destination (the redirect target) instead of redirecting to another URL.
HTTP Error: 301 (Moved permanently)
Here is an example of the problem urls reported.
[ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]
Notice that index.html is missing at the end of the URL.
All the URLs on my site end with index.html, therefore if you enter an URL without the index.html, you will be redirected (301) to the correct URL.
Also if you consult my sitemap, you will notice that all URLs have the index.html at the end.
Well the big question now is, why is Google constantly reporting URLs from my sitemaps with 301 redirections?
These URLs without the index.html don't even exist in my sitemap.xml
Please Help!
