Spent the last 3hrs trying to create a sitemap - failed miserably !
First tried to create one using more or less standard settings, as per .pdf instructions. Used a cronjob but it failed after an hour, with the usual memory problem (as I see all over this site).
Then turned off everything I see mentioned in the posts;
Text site map = OFF
ROR Site map = OFF
HTML Site Map = OFF
Calculate Change Log after completion = OFF
Now I'm getting this;
Links depth: 5
Current page: index.php?a=11&b=612&c=2&d=2
Pages added to sitemap: 15377
Pages scanned: 15380 (338,650.2 KB)
Pages left: 2328 (+ 1267 queued for the next depth level)
Time passed: 60:57
Time left: 9:13
Memory usage: 16,247.1 Kb
Resuming the last session (last updated: 2009-03-03 14:55:56)
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2883597 bytes) in /home/gcclass/public_html/generator/pages/class.utils.inc.php(2) : eval()'d code on line 6
What I don't really understand is why there are so many pages ! I have a fairly small Classifieds site showing, at the moment, only around 370 listings. There are obviously more pages than that on the site but there is a big difference between 500 and 18.000 !!!
And why should it need all that memory ? Am I missing something here ?
