At the time of creating the ror.xml and sitemap.xml files I also created several other sitemap.xml files, such as sitemap.xml ,sitemap1.xml, sitemap2.xml, sitemap3.xml etc because I read somewhere here that each file can only hold so many links etc per file and there after the extra need to be stored in another uploaded sitemap.xml file. So I did it now to save me time and confusion in the future as I have a forum.
All the above files are stored in the public html directory of my domain with the permissions set to 666.
Can you please correct me if I’ve done wrong?
Also, I’ve noticed that the above files have been duplicated in the Data folder with permissions re-set to 644. Is this normal?
