General HTTP error: 404 not found

I installed this correctly, chmod sitemap.xml 0666, but SUPPOSEDLY it generated sitemap1.xml and sitemap2.xml also but they're not there! It never created the pages it said it did. After 2 days with this I'm ready to give up.

So how is it supposed to create those missing pages??

You should also mamually create empty sitemap1.xml/sitemap2.xml files, set 0666 permissions for them and regenerate sitemap.
