Sitemap Generator Forum

I have version PRO 8.2, 2021-08-31 with sitemap_images add-on

All has been working fine. Last successful update of sitemaps was 4 Oct 2023. Tried to update sitemaps last week resulting in:

"There was an error while retrieving the URL specified: [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]
HTTP Code:

HTTP headers:
x_csize: 0
"

Looking around also notice that /data/ attributes have change from 777 to 755. Changed dir back to 777 but it does not stick.  Looking at the date on the /generator folder, 13 Feb 2023 this may have started with an update to 8.2??

Where do I start. It is the weekend, host tech support doesn't have a clue.

Probably there is a configuration problem - it looks like your server doesn't allow local network connections via port 80 (http) or 443 (https) - as a result sitemap generator is not able to crawl the site. This is usually related to firewall installed at the host - could you please contact your hosting support regarding this?

After an hour on the phone talking to a dozen "techs" the answer is "not my job". Well really we're just the host and this is outside the scope of our support.

Understandably, you can't reconfigure my host, and the my host won't entertain a configuration problem. Short of changing host, is there an option getting this nice tool to work?

Update: I've enabled "Use Curl" setting in generator configuration and it works now.
